Infants: 8 weeks to 12 months old

The program is designed to promote feelings of belonging and loving care, which help infants to grow and develop to their full potential. Children eat, sleep, and play according to his or her own schedule.

Every infant is an individual with unique abilities, desires, and emotions. Our program is designed to meet the individual needs of each child and to provide them with educational experiences. Staff is trained to provide children with consistent and responsive care. In our infant classrooms, we provide a creative and stimulating program, which encourages visual, language, gross motor, and small motor experiences to enhance learning through natural curiosity. Our teachers provide a language-rich routine, along with meaningful and engaging activities to support your child’s experience each day.

PC Tots staff will guide and encourage your child in every stage of their development. We firmly believe in the need for open and thorough communication between teachers and each family to provide loving care for each child and confidence for each parent. We utilize a daily Progress Report to help communicate your child’s growth and development and invite feedback (change in napping or feeding) so that our staff can best respond to your child’s needs.

Toddlers: 13 to 23 months / Big Tots: 24 to 35 months

Our toddler and big tot programs serve children from 13 to 35 months. The toddler and big tot classrooms are designed to provide stimulating experiences where children can learn through their own inquisitiveness. The emphasis during the toddler years is on building self-confidence and fostering the natural curiosity that toddlers possess.

Throughout the day, toddlers and big tots may enjoy a large variety of play materials that are readily available to them, as well as Interest Areas where children can dress-up, build with blocks, and experiment with the sensory table. Art, music, language, and science activities geared to little hands are also introduced through developmentally appropriate small and large group times.

PC Tots toddler and big tots classrooms promote both teacher directed and supported activities as well as child-led activities. Staff works with children to support toilet training, good eating habits, and developmentally appropriate growth and development.

Our teachers offer the nurturing, warmth, and patience that are essential for this age group. Children feel comfortable in our toddler class settings when their parents leave. Deep respect for each child ensures that your toddler will truly love his or her school environment and develop a lasting love for learning.

Preschoolers and Pre-Kindergarten: 3 - 5 years old

PC Tots preschool classrooms provide high-quality care and education for children age three through five years. Our preschool program prepares children socially and academically. Teachers support and encourage the development of independence, responsibility, and confidence - all of which are essential for the child’s ongoing success in kindergarten.

Our educational program focuses on each child’s social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development by offering concrete, hands-on activities for the child to explore. PC Tots utilizes Creative Curriculum, an award winning, nationally recognized, forward-thinking, comprehensive, and research-based curriculum that promotes growth and learning. The curriculum is designed to actively engage each child in developmentally age appropriate activities that explore the content of literacy, language, mathematics, science, social studies, the arts, and technology. Our teachers prepare curriculum that is exciting and challenging, supporting children to use critical thinking skills to make sense of the world around them.

Our preschool room arrangement creates the optimum learning environment. It allows children easy access to educational toys, materials and books, enabling them to initiate and expand their activities. Each classroom is organized with areas for block plan, manipulative toys, art creativity, dramatic play, and reading in addition to larger spaces for group activities. Our daily routine is consistent, and allows children to play independently during Choice Time, participate in small groups to learn certain skill sets, and large groups to practice social skills and exploration of our studies.
